Stretch Shortening Cycle (Ssc)

The Stretch-Shortening Cycle (SSC) is the physiological foundation of plyometric power in modern tennis. By coupling an active eccentric pre-stretch with an explosive concentric contraction, the musculoskeletal system harvests stored elastic strain energy and spinal reflex recruitment to amplify stroke speed and court movement.

Grip Relaxation & Elastic Tendon Recoil

Excessive grip tension freezes the Stretch-Shortening Cycle of the forearm. By maintaining light grip pressure during the swing transition, the tendons of the wrist and fingers remain flexible enough to lengthen eccentrically, storing energy that rebounds cleanly into the ball at impact.
