Video Capture: Net Game Tip: How To Transition To The Net — Tennis Evolution

Now it's time to get from the back to the front and this is where I find people have a little bit of trouble most people they hit the ball and then they run forward that they try to knit as possible which yeah you want to the net but you want to the net as possible you don't want to you don't want to the net running forward because then everything becomes a blur you can imagine when two objects.
Approach each other very fast everything is a blur there's no control in the middle so I have two things I like to do two to contact moves I like to get people from the back to the front I'm going to practice that but today I'm going to play a show you how to do that the first one is what we call a front foot hop it's getting you from where you're hitting to the net quicker if you not going to spend a lot of time going forward okay so we want to.
Make sure that we go through the front foot hop we flow through so I'm going to show you how to do it in limit I'm going to have Elizabeth and Max demonstrate a little bit so the first thing we want to do is get around the ball make sure that there's a good shoulder turn and then get the momentum forward and it looks kind of like this I see the ball I want to make a strong C shape and then I want to hop and cover ground from the front that's going to.
Look something like this I see the ball I make a strong C shape around it and I am a cobble ground this you notice how my swing is transferring my weight for so I'm covering ground I'm not just swinging as I'm covering like a good yard and a half so that's going to get me sports from there I don't have a lot of work to get where I need to go so this is what we're going to do we're going to practice the front foot.
Hop first when I want these guys to come in and remember these are progressions again these are not feeding balls I want to make sure they have good form they're very good form before I feed the ball from the other side so first we just make sure they understand what they're supposed to where they supposed to go what they're supposed to do in their ready position and then once we satisfied with that we can move on to the next.
Thing all right so what max you and Elizabeth coming are you smiling so much okay what so first thing I'm going to do is I'm going to have them shadow I don't want to have anything to do with a ball I want them to work with the perfect form so I want are they going to start like this and we're going to do it twice they're going to go around do the front foot hop go in let's step over the red part and when they split step we're going to make very.
Sure so that strong structures right so when they split their step they're going to make sure we're going to make sure they have that elbow in front of the records below eye level but above risk level you guys got to send it okay show me a c-shape with a front foot hop the shape around front foot hop okay split excellent go a little bit dance around front foot hop wow this is excellent one more each very good really good.
Dance around okay split elbows strong very good one more time stance around very good check excellent all right now I'm happy with that I'm happy with the form and now I'm going to start the bottom on a hand feed a ball and they're going to do the exact same thing and I want you to there's only one boy feed one ball you hit the approach with a front foot hop you split step there in your exit alright so I'm going to feed the ball a little bit at you I want you to make a.
Seed and because I want you to work on your feet also ready okay get it round okay now go go back I want the opposite I don't want any spin moves I want the hop step very good flip alright let's see a little bit show me a hop step very good she doesn't extremely well except for a split step so when you guys come in to split make sure your elbows are forward if you flipped it like this you're going to.
You're going to get into trouble if they are Elizabeth there it does this very well he stays a little bit sideways so the leg keeps her a little bit sideways the video you just saw is a sample video from Ian's new instructional videos on becoming a great volume in these videos he explains all the necessary components like good grips the ready position the split step and of course the fundamentals of great forehand and backhand volley you will.
