Spanish Legends and Long Reps

By Chris Lewit · The Prodigy Maker (2020-06-02) · Original Article ↗

Most Spanish academies and coaches train players with long, extended drills that range from 10-20 repetitions or more.

The most famous coaches in Spain, William Pato Alvarez and Luis Bruguera, both believe in grueling exercises that can exceed 100 repetitions without a break—and they trust those drills to make their players tougher than the rest.

Practicing only in the 1-4 shot range, as suggested by many current coaches and pundits, directly contradicts the approach of these legendary coaches.
