Rich Berman has been playing tennis for over 50 years, and teaching for over 40. A top ten ranked Southern California junior who competed against players including Stan Smith and Bob Lutz, Rich went on to become an All-American at Cal State Long Beach. In the early 1980's he moved back to Colorado, founding Rich's Tennis School 1990, where he has worked with hundreds of players at all levels including nationally ranked juniors and state high school champions.
He is also the coach of David Hall, the 6-time number one wheelchair player in the world. At his tennis school, Rich teaches with his top staff members Alan and Chad Tsuda, two former proteges, who also do the stroke demos for these articles. Rich was the recipient of the 2012 Arthur Ashe Award, presented by USTA Intermountain Division, for his contributions to the wheel chair tennis community.
